For listeners
Mirlo is a platform where you can discover music, support artists directly, and own your music collection.
Finding music
Discover and browse
Explore music from independent artists and labels around the world. Browse artist profiles, listen to tracks and albums, and find new music through the Mirlo catalog.
You can also browse by tag, to follow a genre or a mood, and by location, to find what's happening in a particular city or country.
No account required for some things
You can listen to music and browse artist pages without an account. You can also grab free downloads and sign up for artists' newsletters with just your email address. An account lets you keep everything you've bought in one collection, follow artists, and message them.
Listen to whole songs
There are no 30-second snippets. You hear the full track. Some artists limit how many times you can play a song before they ask you to buy it, and others leave listening unlimited.
Buying and owning music
See what an artist offers
Every artist decides what they want to offer on Mirlo. Some sell downloads and merch, and others just share their music to stream.
On a release's page, a Buy or Download button means you can get a copy of it. If there's no button, that release is for listening only. CDs, vinyl, T-shirts and other physical items are in the artist's Merch tab, and merch that goes with a release also shows up on that release's page.
Purchase and download music
Buy music directly from artists and download it in the format you prefer: lossless FLAC or WAV, or smaller MP3 or OPUS files. Your purchases are yours to keep — no subscriptions required to access music you've bought.
You can buy a whole release, a single track, or — when an artist offers it — their entire catalog in one go. Some releases come with extras: liner notes, artwork, or other files the artist has added alongside the music.
Pre-order what isn't out yet
Artists can put a release up before it's finished. Pre-order it and it arrives in your collection the day it comes out.
Manage your collection
Keep track of everything you've purchased or downloaded from a single account. Your music library is always accessible and yours to re-download.
Save things for later
Not ready to buy? Add an album or a track to your wishlist and come back to it. You can also favorite the tracks you keep returning to.
Use promo codes
Have a promo code from an artist? Redeem it to get music for free. Artists use promo codes to share their work with press, friends, and fans. If you've got one, it's easy to use at checkout.
Supporting artists
Follow, for free
Following an artist costs nothing and tells them you're listening. Some artists offer free newsletters--you can subscribe to these even without a Mirlo account, so you can stay in the loop without committing to a paid subscription.
Support with annual or monthly subscriptions
Want to support an artist on an ongoing basis? Subscribe to an artist's support tiers to help fund their work. Tiers can include perks like exclusive content, early access to releases, or subscriber-only blog posts.
Tip once
Don't want an ongoing commitment? You can tip an artist a one-off amount instead — as much or as little as you'd like.
Getting in touch with artists
Find them elsewhere
Artist pages often link to the artist's own website, their social media, or an email address, so you can find them wherever they are.
Send a message
If an artist has turned on direct messages, you can write to them from their page while logged in. They'll get it by email, and when they reply it comes straight to your inbox. That means the artist will see your email address.
When you buy something, you can also leave the artist a message with it.
Staying in touch
Read artist posts
Follow along with what your favorite artists are up to. Many artists publish blog posts directly on their Mirlo profile—public updates or exclusive posts for subscribers only--and they'll land right in your inbox. You can see all updates from artists you follow in an easy to read notification feed on your profile page.
Leave whenever you like
Following an artist isn't a commitment. Artists agree to use your email only to send you their news and updates, and never to share it with anyone. Every email an artist sends you carries an unsubscribe link, and you can stop following from their page at any time — including if you followed by email without ever making a Mirlo account.
Follow artists from across the social web
Artists can choose to be followed on the social web. If you're on Mastodon or another fediverse server, you can follow them from there and their posts will turn up in your usual feed — no Mirlo account needed.
